Using organza overlays, the cross is made to look as if it were constructed of glass. The Crucifixion is not considered the end, so that we see beyond and through the cross indicating the importance of the Resurrection and development of Christianity. The viewer's eye is led upward along quilted rays to the lightest point; both in life and death, we are attracted to the Light.
