Relating to nature and growth, this quilt refers to Jesus speaking to his disciples. Branches, representing the people of God are delicate and wandering, but are still growing. The vine is strong, sturdy and very old. Inserted between the center panel and lattice panels is a transparent area to which the vines cling, revealing some of the block wall. Leaves add a light and lyrical quality balancing the straight lines of the supports.
